This class is for those who have never taken a Basic soy candle class with us before. If you have, click here for our refill workshop for SHC Candle Club members.
The FOCUS of this class is fragrance. Learn about:
- How fragrance is made
- Top, mid and base notes
- 7 Reasons a candle smells - OR Doesn't!
- At off-site events, have fun with up to 60 fragrances (based on group size)
- At the She Shed at Sue's, brace your nose for closer to 300 fragrances!
The wax we will use is soy. All materials are provided. Topics will include:
- how to clean and inspect your jar before refilling (if repurposing a jar)
- how to properly wick your candle (this can be a whole class on its own)
- the differences in waxes
- fragrance mixology at the mix-and-mingle scent bar
- tips and tricks to using soy as your wax of choice. Special temperature tips and tricks
The Soy Candle Making basics class runs from 9-11am. The fee you are paying when you sign up for the workshop is non refundable and covers the lesson. After filling your jar, you will pay $1.50/oz of wax used plus the cost of the jar you choose. (cash/credit/debit/email money transfer are accepted)
Candles take about 2 hours to set before they can be transported. We encourage you to go grab a bite to eat and do some shopping in our quaint little town while your candles set and come back in the afternoon to pick them up.
Contact us if you would like this as a private class at a time that suits you best.
