Local artist Ruth Millard enjoys felting for its therapeutic aspects (stabby-stabby) as well as the artistic merits in using natural wool. Ruth loves the feel, the tactile (fuzzy-fuzzy) of wool and the portability of the craft, and the ability to create something out of a mass of fiber just by poking with a needle!
In this workshop, Ruth will teach the craft and basics of needle felting, with overview of tools, supplies and techniques to make a super-cute pumpkin with extra embellishments to call it your own! All materials include felting tools and foam surface to work along with wool roving in a variety of colours so the pumpkin can look great on your mantle, bookshelf, or desk as you celebrate the fall season. You may even want to continue and make a whole pumpkin patch for a dough bowl filler like shown. Foam felting pads are provided to use during the workshop and can be purchased separately. Additional roving wool can be purchased as well.
The beginner class is best for teens and adults as we will be using sharp objects. Class is Sunday September 15th from 1pm to 2:30pm.
